Ian Fford – live DJ performance.
Sullivan Room, Manhattan, New York, NY.
1:59AM – 2:02AM, April 29, 2010.
This song recorded, engineered and mastered by Kill Screen.
“Building Freestyle”.

Personal Jesus spun by Ian Fford

Building Freestyle:

This is the fourth song in a series called Building Freestyle [working title].  Search “freestyle” with the upper-right search box or click on the “freestyle” tag to see the other posts.  Deep Space is to “dub”, as Kill Screen is to “freestyle”.  That is to say, we apply a broad definition to the genre of music.  A revved-up version of a big Depeche Mode jam spun as the opening song in an Ian Fford set, for example, qualifies as a “freestyle” song.  Not sure why, exactly – it just does.  Kill Screen will release a live freestyle track every week.  Perhaps by the summer, we may be in a position to release a mixed freestyle EP comprised of different live freestyle tracks spun by different DJs in different venues on different nights.  Pretty sick, huh?  Also, we may release cadoubles (similar to cassingles, but with a different song on each side).

General programming notes:

  • source audio files recorded in 96,000 kHz sample rate / 24 bit sound
