Among the Sleep puts players in control of a baby in a haunted house.
Norwegian developer Krilbite Studio announced their next project will be Among the Sleep, a first person horror game played from the view of a two year-old baby. The game is set on a spooky night when a toddler climbs out of its crib and crawls around a house observing spooky supernatural phenomenon.
The game’s website describes the animating spirit of the game:
Being played in first person, the game let its players immerse themselves in a child’s limitless imagination. This is a perspective we all have a distant familiarity with, but few can clearly remember what it felt like.
In the borderland between dream and reality, surreal creatures and diverse environments will present you with both physical and mental obstacles that challenge your creativity.
The idea of baby games has become an in-joke among some game fans, a way of derogating games they dislike for being overly simple. Among the Sleep will embrace the baby game moniker by showing how frightening and full of darkness a mundane adult environment can appear from your hands and knees.
The game will be released in 2013 on PC and Mac.
