How’s this for a challenge: design a house that doubles as a skate-park. It may sound unreasonable, but architect Francois Perrin was willing to tackle that challenge head on. In the process, he learned a little something about how skating can teach us about architecture: 

Skating has a strong relation with architecture. They adapt themselves to public space and outdoor furniture. A skater, when he goes around the city trying to find the right space and surface, he really looks at architecture with a different eye than someone that’s walking around. It’s a more fluid approach. So this idea of people skating in a house has been the dream of many generations of skaters.

The house is currently a part of the “Public Display” exhibition at La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris, and will be available for viewing until August 7th.
