In the state of California alone, current generation consoles burn through 1,100 gigawatts a year. That’s a lot of watts, one billion of them to be precise, or enough to employ a medium-sized power plant. The good news is that the Xbox One and Playstation 4 will be more efficient when running tasks not related to games, such as streaming Netflix. The bad? Well, no one buys a console for Netflix.
