From the edges of science, a synthetic mother/spawn doll has been created to help medical students walk through a birth:

The mother known as “Noelle” and baby “Hal” give students an interactive opportunity to prepare for a normal births and ones with complications. “They see what they need to do. They think on their feet, make decisions and they can feel secure that although it’s realistic, nothing could be harmed by doing it,” says the St. Anthony College of Nursing President, Terri Burch.

And of course, with a face like this, who wouldn’t want to do this.
