Lately, Google seems to be trying mighty hard to not be evil, as they keep releasing cool little projects like Smarty Pins. The Google Maps mod uses the popular map feature to test your knowledge of US geography, asking you questions like: which city is Portlandia set in? 

Okay, it gets a little harder than that. But the interface is a no-brainer to anyone who has ever opened Google Maps, which is basically everyone. And while dropping pins on the capital of Vermont may not seem like the most thrilling way to spend time online, this has the likelihood to be strangely addicting, like Words with Friends, especially if you are at work and all the good domains are blocked.
