Microsoft’s Summer of Backtracking continues. Earlier this week Marc Whitten, Xbox One’s Chief Product Officer, issued a statement saying that independent developers would be able to self-publish on the new console.

Moreover, Whitten states each console will include a debug kit, allowing developers to make and test games on the same console they buy at the store. Not every indie is buying what Microsoft is selling.
