Path of Shadows’ shadow control is the first novel hook in stealth games in forever

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from game with stealth elements such as Metal Gear Solid and more recently The Last of Us, it’s that when things go bad I’d do best to hide behind some cargo crates and start neck-stabbing buffoons. This is the norm for these types of games. But Path of Shadows—a gorgeous game by talented students with a emphasis on sneaky ninjutsu—makes a brash change to the formula. Instead of sticking to the shadows, you are the shadows, becoming a lightless puddle of darkness by way of ninja magic. The game’s prototype was recently made available for free, with the proper version of the game coming soon, along with a Kickstarter. The trailer’s below.
