HEAVY BULLETS (PC, MAC, LINUX)

BY TERRI VELLMANN

FRACT OSC with guns meets the procedural generation of Spelunky, topped with the musical stylings of Samurai Gunn‘s doseone? Count us in. With only six bullets to make it across eight levels, Heavy Bullets ranges from total insanity to tactical maneuvering as you move through its neon-soaked levels. There’s more content planned for the future as well, but good luck beating the game’s current offerings.

Perfect forDevolver Digital diehards, neon annihilators, cyberspace cowboys

Playtime: 1-2 hours.

MEDICATION MEDITATION (IOS, GOOGLE PLAY)

BY KARA STONE

Medication Meditation is actually made up of five games. Five tiny games that feel less like you’re leisurely wasting time and more like you’re scrabbling to hold on. The creator, Kara Stone, strives to evoke the rituals that she, as a person living with severe depression and anxiety, loops back to each day to keep things going. There is no end in Medication Meditation, no win state, no fireworks. But there is always a way forward.

Perfect for: Empathetic sorts, people intrigued by this interview with Stone

Playtime: Brief snippets.

KIWANUKA (IOS)

BY CMA MEGACORP

If Lemmings and Pikmin mutated, and its tiny helpers became mildly suicidal, you’d have Kiwanuka. In it, you play as the light bearer, leading your band of adorable geometric villagers off cliffs and through doom chasms. Don’t worry, though—it’s ultimately for a greater good! They understand. Experience the joys of building a bridge that is twenty people strong, but watch out for those pesky, light-zapping blue crystals.

Perfect for: Environmental puzzle lovers, adorable tyrants

Playtime: A couple hours.
