Pornhub have been sending out game-related press releases to get some publicity, and their latest stunt was a little data analysis on how owners of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4, and Wii view their various salacious categories: MILF, Ebony, Lesbian, Teen, Squirt, I just threw up a little, sorry. Just so you know, PlayStation owners by and large prefer soccer moms, Xbox owners like them young, and Wii, well, the number one hit is hentai. We’ll just leave that one alone.

This is not just about people watching porn though. This is about a lot of people watching porn. If we cast a wider gaze we can see that the idea of consoles as do-everything-machines is catching on. When the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 came out seven years ago, these machines were all about the games. But after the social explosion and the war of the set-top boxes for living room dominance, a motley of non-gaming features from streaming video to Skype have populated our screens. This is an indication that those efforts have not been in vain… or that people don’t like watching porn at their desks, either way.
