Do you want to step up your game (design)?

This post was produced by General Assembly.

Game Design is an exciting new field of critical and practical studies which explores how to design games that are fun, engaging, rewarding, and mind-changing. The systems we interact with every day as gamers are the subject of this field, but it equally applies to designing other systems, such as social networks, marketplaces, and business structures. For those interested in learning more, we have a great opportunity to do so.

General Assembly’s 10-week Game System Design course, headed by independent game designer Charley Miller and NYU Game Center researcher Charles Pratt, teaches students the fundamental concepts of game design, as well as how to quickly prototype, test rules, and build rulesets for the purpose of implementing specific themes and goals.
