Dominique Pamplemousse is the best name of any video game, ever

One of the advantages independent videogame projects have over professional ones is that, with a smaller team, it’s easier for the designer’s personality to permeate various aspects of the game. Deirdra Kiai has begun creating a stop-motion musical adventure she’s crowdfunding on Indiegogo called Dominique Pamplemousse in “It’s All Over Once the Fat Lady Sings!” One of Kiai’s earlier games, Life Flashes By, examined all the “it might have beens” of a dead female author. Dominique Pamplemousse promises to further examine the lives of complex characters who face real as well as ridiculous problems.

In addition to the game’s experimental creation methods, it has people who aren’t white, females who talk to each other about things other than men, and a charming style. $5 gets you the game on either iPad or PC.
