The makers of Surgeon Simulator want to teach you algebra

Amplify, a company geared towards technology-driven classrooms and digital curriculum is working with Bossa Studios, creators of the (educational?) game Surgeon Simulator, to make Twelve a Dozen, a puzzle game meant to help children learn basic algebra.

The iPad game dives into the microscopic world inside a calculator, where the twelves live in a city called Dozenopolis. One particular twelve has been destined to unify the numbers after a mysterious event separates the entire number community. Twelve must solve math problems in order to find the missing numbers and unify the splintered math universe.

Twelve a Dozen is a solid unity of indie developers and educators that makes an educational and fun game primarily for children but can surely be enjoyed by adults as well. The game is available on the App Store.
