White Boards Teach Kids How to Use a Blank Slate

If you haven’t seen these interactive white boards, they’re something out of Ghostwriter. First of all, the boards are called Prometheans which is amazing. Second, they emulate what can be done on the computer screen with a pen so it’s a bit like a Cintiq pad.  We’re excited for things like this as it opens avenues for new gameplay styles to enter the class room.

“We’ve got Promethean board fever,” Principal Carolyn Goode said with a grin. “We can finally compete with the video games, computer games and TV. Student participation is way up.”

“One of the things we emphasize is it’s just a tool,” Goode said of the interactive whiteboards. “The teachers, they’re still using books and their teaching strategies. We just have a lot more options now.”
