Cuphead for Xbox echoes the Golden age of Disney animation

Strike up the player piano, because Cuphead is a callback to the heyday of American animation, the 1930s. The game is complete with a jitterbugging hero who looks suspiciously like Mickey Mouse with a cup on his head, and a scalawag of a pirate that Popeye would hate.
This game is clearly all about the look, so luckily it’s a damn charming one. A post on Studio MDHR’s site describes it as a “run-and-gun and fighting game” with an emphasis on one-on-one boss fights, so fingers crossed that it shakes out to be something like Alien Soldier as imagined by Max Fleischer. Details are scant, look for this one on a Microsoft platform sometime in 2014. The end.
