Deciding Without Knowing

A chat with Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley on July 2nd at 12PST

June 18, 2021

This talk demands your participation for it to happen. You must decide where we go without knowing the repercussions. Without knowing if the choice you have made is good or not.

Together we will weather the storm of your choices

Together we will figure out what needs to be done

It’s up to you what we do together

This event is part of Killscreen’s Practice programming (see below)

About Your Speaker

Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley (UK) is an artist working predominantly in animation, sound, performance and Video Games to communicate the experiences of being a Black Trans person. Their practice focuses on recording the lives of Black Trans people, intertwining lived experience, fiction and interactivity to create work that refuses to let viewers be passive. The work is often seen as a form of autonomous archiving in which the experience shifts and moulds based on the identity of the user as well as the choices they make during the experiences.

Killscreen is an arts and culture organization committed to advancing the dialogue and practice of games and play. Founded in 2010, we seek to drive the intersection of games, play, and culture through cross-disciplinary collaboration to show the world why play matters. We want to break down the barriers that have traditionally segregated play and games from other creative disciplines and highlight creators with ambassadorial relationships to the world around us.

We encourage you to follow and share the hashtag #KSonline for more incredible online experiences. And check out other material on Killscreen.com, including honest and thought-provoking interviews with some of the best creators at the intersection of play and culture.
