Forget highscores: achieving the lowest score in Super Mario Bros. takes a real pro

Now, intrepid gamer NotEntirelySure didn’t necessarily reach the lowest possible score in the NES clasic Super Mario Bros., but he did set quite a standard with 600 points —and zero deaths— using an emulator and keyboard with no save states or slowdowns. Simply consider all the coins, enemies and hesitation involved in the game, and you can imagine how much focus it takes to avoid everything.

That being said, a salute must go out to the single Goomba sacrificed in World 8-1. It was either him —or the coins. The choice was clear.
