Google study: very few people play tablet games while mid-backflip

A Google study of tablet use comes to some predictable conclusions:

When U.S. tablet owners are playing games on their devices, they’re most likely sitting or lying down on a couch, according to a new Google study examining how consumers use tablets.

The research paper, which seeks to provide an understanding of why and how people use their tablets, found that tablet gamers are also likely to play while in bed or riding in a car, and in fewer instances at a table or at an office.

More seriously, though, the study found that people use their tablets more on weekdays than weekends, and as pleasure devices far more than work devices. The market for mobile gaming, as we’ve been saying, has never been more inviting for developers, and with today’s expected announcement of af new iPad Mini, this market is only going to grow.
