Ian Bogost, Looper director get in politest Twitter spat ever

Ian Bogost, the game designer and academic who is the closest thing the medium has to a guru, announced yesterday on Twitter that he did not like last year’s time-travel actioneer Looper.
Am I living on another planet or something? rottentomatoes.com/m/looper/

Twenty minutes later, after a little bit of mild trash talk about Looper, the film’s director, Rian Johnson replied:
@ibogost We come in peace!

Chagrined, but unwilling to change his tune, Bogost responded with a complex mix of internet regret and defiance:
@rianjohnson Sorry for being an ass about your film that I didn’t like. 🙁

Then it was Johnson’s turn to feel a little awkward:
@ibogost No assery at all, I’m the one who poked my nose in and twitter-bombed you.

If only there were real life time machines, there would never be any hurt feelings and polite men with strong feelings would never go too far.
