Continuing our look into the Sundance Film Festival, we are excited to see what comes from Sundance’s New Frontiers, a part of the festival dedicated to new ways to present narratives. Even the ubiquitous James Franco has had his hand in it. 

One of such projects comes from Italian-based Molleindustria, makers of controversial games such as Oligarchy and McDonald’s Videogame, is a “team of artists, designers and programmers that aims at starting a serious discussion about social and political implications of videogames,” according to their site. They have brought several of their games to the festival, one of which is “Unmanned,” a piece whereby the player mans a drone aircraft over a war zone while conversing with a spouse back home in the suburbs. They bring a handful of other politically charged games to the festival as well.
