According to The Economist,
Several lines of inquiry (see article) are converging on the idea that the neurological activity of the brain can be decoded directly, and people’s thoughts revealed without being spoken.
So telepathy? Mind-reading? We could be mentally messaging our friends and playing games in our heads if this kind of thing takes off. Dismiss any unsettling dystopian visions for the time being.
