Everyone loves Portal’s iconic Companion Cube, but few of us actually know why. In fact, it’s this illogical, fierce love for an inanimate object that does very little for us that made the “character” so interesting.

Still, wouldn’t it be nice if it was useful? That seems to have been the thinking behind the Companion Cube Subwoofer, seen in the video above. Sure, it may not sound so great on You Tube, but something tells me that if you spend some time with it in person, you’ll start to feel as if something’s missing when it’s not in your life.
