This weekend, play Pid

Pid is the new puzzle-platform game from the Swedish indie developer Might and Delight, and both of those qualities are fully represented. The delight is obvious: you play in a weird and wonderful Jetsons-inspired world as a little lost astronaut named Kurt. The game’s dry and clean aesthetic, its sparing use of sound, and its quiet humor will remind you of Limbo. It’s all very charming. The might comes in the form of the little beams of light you can throw that manipulate gravity, and that you use to ride around the game and ride robotic enemies into spikes.

It’s a lovely game, and at 10 dollars on Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN, it is priced to sell. It feels like a glass of sorbet after the enormous and potentially gas-inducing 32 ounce steak of Assassin’s Creed 3.
