WHITE NIGHT (LINUX, MAC, PC, PLAYSTATION 4, XBOX ONE

BY OSOME STUDIO

Chiaroscuro has been handed down from the drawn arts, to cinema and photography, and is now making headway in videogames. In White Night, it is made interactive, as the darkness is as much a sign of danger for you to carve up with the safety of light, as it is a stylistic nod to film noir. As you creep through its chilling mansion, draped in starkness, you’ll find ghosts of the past blocking your way. Their grief is scattered like debris, in the many letters and photos for you to find, from which the tale of a serial killer unravels against the backdrop of the Great Depression. But, while the visuals may be black-and-white, the characters in this supernatural crime fiction are far from.

Perfect for: Film noir connoisseurs, slaves to chiaroscuro, horror fans

Playtime: Five to seven hours
