Resident Evil celebrates 15th anniversary by terrorizing fans in an abandoned hospital.
As part of the 15 year anniversary of the Resident Evil series, Capcom is partnering with Zepp Live Entertainment to put on a live haunted house in an abandoned Japanese hospital.
Zepp specializes in creating real experiences were audience members must find their way out of a real world location while facing simulated dangers. The company will amend their formula to include Umbrella-themed references to the Resident Evil universe. The event will take place in Tokyo’s Tamai Hospital studio and tickets will cost 3,150 yen. The show will run from July 19 to August 31.
In light of the recent successes of Punchdrunk’s game-inspired Sleep No More, it might just be that interactive theater installations turn out to be a better format for videogame adaptations than movies.
Here’s a less spooky example of the company’s earlier work set in an empty baseball stadium.
