As you probably noticed, there are a slew of new consoles on the horizon this fall in addition to many of the micro-consoles like OUYA and the forthcoming Steam Machines platform. This is always great for games as the renewed interest drives millions of game players to the stores to try and grab their favorite console or title.

This is not so great for those who can’t find the holiday’s system. Pre-orders for launch day Xbox Ones and PlayStation 4s are already tough to find and if past release calendars are any indication, it’ll be weeks before supply catches up with demand. Shortages of the Wii, for example, were months long.

So we’ve got a solution for you. You might not get a PS4. That’s ok. Breathe. But there are plenty of PS3 titles that can scratch that itch for you.

It’s a tradition for consoles to launch with a racing game so now might be a good time to catch-up on Motorstorm and before you catch up on the new Battlefield, you can check out Battlefield 3.
