It’s that time of year again. Get ready to whip out your shorts, sunhats and SPF 30. It’s also time for street games: Come Out and Play, the annual event committed to providing participants with in-real-life gaming experiences, hits New York City this Sunday —and will be hosting a different game (or two) every weekend for a month. The event will include six different locations and is free:
“There’s all this talk about graphics in games, but it’s kind of hard to beat running around New York City for high-resolution gaming,” said Greg Trefry, the festival director. “The real world is going to trump most video games.”
But don’t get the wrong impression: Come Out and Play isn’t anti-videogames. Rather, the event brings the joy of gaming to a much bigger platform.
