One of the concerns people always have when getting a new tattoo is with their longevity. Is that quote from Dante’s Inferno that you now have plastered across your chest, I resisted asking a friend in college, really going to have the same impact in twenty years?

Well, one man found a way to circumvent this, at least partially. Cnet reports:

The code may pop up with a GIF of a couple of headbangers swinging their hair around, or a recent tweet, a phrase, a video, or a weather report. Bosch calls it the first-ever random tattoo.

If he wants to get meta with it, Bosch could have his QR code tattoo link to images of other tattoos. I would suggest some of our Crave readers’ geeky tats or T-Pain’s Facebook ink.

Surprise, surprise, this isn’t the first QR code tattoo we’ve heard about. A marketing stunt for Ballantine whiskey got there first.

This new type of inking could also add a whole dimension to alternate reality games. Try to imagine some new, QR-friendly form of Assassin or Humans vs. Zombies. Or maybe that will just lead to more paranoid conspiracies of our brave new world.
