The Pokémon World Championships are nigh.

If you’re serious about Pokémon, then you’re going to get your ass to Europe starting March 3rd, for what’s basically going to be the NCAA Tournament for fans of the Nintendo classic. Here are some basic ground-rules for the tournament:

You can build your team using Pokemon from the National Pokedex and must play using the Pokemon Black or Pokemon White versions.

This expands the number of Pokemon that can be used, a move that will increase the skill and strategy needed to win, J.C. Smith, director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International, said.

There are three divisions: Juniors (born 2001 or later), Seniors (born 1997-2000), and Masters (born 1996 or earlier). Good luck, y’all.
